The PIAU mission is to support investigators by offering proper training and staying on top of Utah laws.We do these events for all of you, plus it’s a great opportunity to mingle with your colleagues. We’ve got a fantastic line up of speakers this year. You won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to hear from one of Utah’s top defense attorneys, Annie Taliaferro! She’ll be here to discuss with us how important investigators are in cases, how we can be the most effective and common mistakes we make. We will also hear from a prosecutors prospective about what gets investigators in trouble and important laws we need to be aware of.
Lunch will be a catered buffet.
The afternoon will be DNA & forensics with Francine Bardole and then a fascinating presentation about death investigations from Ret. UT Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Todd Grey. Matt Morrise will also be here to talk about digital forensics and how they can help on our cases. Lastly we’ll have an update about MVR & TLR access & records plus GRAMA and protected records laws.
After the event, everyone is welcome and encouraged to stay and socialize. There’s a restaurant and a bar in the hotel. Discount rooms are available.
